Call for Papers 2019

Present Pasts welcomes original contributions from scholars, critics and practitioners in all stages of their career for publication in 2019. We primarily publish research papers but also welcome notes and reviews.

Present Pasts has been publishing since 2009 open access and peer reviewed research on important topics in Cultural Heritage, Public Archaeology and Museum Studies, Public History, Sociology, Anthropology, Memory Studies and Cultural Geography. Review the journal’s back issues here.

Present Pasts is indexed by the following services: Web of Science (Emerging Sources Citation Index), CrossRef, JISC KB+, SHERPA RoMEO, EBSCOHost, and Google Scholar.

Present Pasts publishes one issue per year. The journal is published online as a continuous volume and issue throughout the year. Articles are made available as soon as they are ready. The journal operates a double blind peer review process.

Article Processing Charges (APCs) have been kept to a minimum to ensure that the journal can operate while remaining low cost and fully open access. At £300 the APC is just 10-20% of some competitors. Many research funders and institutions now have open access funds available.
